About the client and facility:


An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced nursing leader to step into the role of Director of Nursing at a well-respected Aged Care Facility in Roma, a vibrant rural town located in the heart of South West Queensland, known for its friendly community, relaxed lifestyle, and rich agricultural history.

Supported by a Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator, the Director of Nursing will lead a committed team to maintain compliance, drive best practice, and foster a positive and supportive workplace culture.

Reporting to the Facility Director of Nursing, this position will work closely with the broader leadership team to monitor and implement strategic objectives and operational plans, ensuring the delivery of effective and compassionate aged care services to the Roma community and the wider South West region.




About the role:

Registered nurse who has the:

- Responsibility for a cohort of staff directly reporting.

- Works in a geographically diverse environment and complex population demographics.

- Demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing/midwifery care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care; and

- Demonstrates advanced clinical management and/or a specified portfolio expertise.




About you:

- Have all the rights to work in Australia

-Registration as a Registered Nurse, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and possession of an annual practicing certificate is mandatory.

-Post Graduate qualifications in Nursing/Midwifery or Health Administration/Management or evidence of enrolment, are highly desirable.

- Previous experience working in senior nursing leadership positions is highly regarded.

- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and, if applicable, registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.

- This position is required to travel and work across the health service.

-It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine-preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16):

– measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)

– varicella (chicken pox)

– pertussis (whooping cough)

– hepatitis B

– current years influenza

- It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be screened for Tuberculosis.
